"Limited or No connectivity on Internet"
One of my home PCs is unable to access the internet, with the above error message on attempting to connect. The PC is connected via a hardwired router with another PC using a parallel port. The second PC is able to access the internet normally. I have tried swapping the router connections but this makes no difference. The second PC always works irrespective of the router connection, while the problem PC remains..a problem.Note that the PC was working fine until it was powered down yesterday evening. Failure occurred on start up today.Running the network diagnostic tool times out before establishing a connection (the 'good' PC naturally passes this test)The problem PC is my son's, so i was concerned that he had inadvertently downloaded something that caused the problem. I ran a system restore to a point before the problem occurred, but to no avail. This is the result of the network diagnostic testANY HELP MOST APPRECIATED!!DefaultIPGateway = 192.168.0.1(Same Subnet) (FAILED)Pinging 192.168.0.1 with 32 bytes of data:Reply from 192.168.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=0 Reply from 192.168.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=0Request timed out.Reply from 192.168.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=0Ping statistics for 192.168.0.1:Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 3, Lost = 1 (25% loss)Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0msDescription = VIA Compatable Fast Ethernet Adapter -Packet Scheduler MiniportDHCPEnabled = TRUEDHCPLeaseExpires =11:01:35 23/08/2010 DHCPLeaseObtained =11:01:35 22/08/2010 DHCPServer = 192.168.0.1 (FAILED)Pinging 192.168.0.1 with 32 bytes of data:Reply from 192.168.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=0Reply from 192.168.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=0Request timed out.Reply from 192.168.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=0Ping statistics for 192.168.0.1:Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 3, Lost = 1 (25% loss)Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0msDNSEnabledForWINSResolution = FALSEDNSHostName = df-vz0wv3rp2dtiDNSServerSearchOrder = 192.168.0.1 (FAILED)Pinging 192.168.0.1 with 32 bytes of data:Request timed out.Request timed out.Request timed out.Reply from 192.168.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=0Ping statistics for 192.168.0.1:Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 1, Lost = 3 (75% loss)Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0msDomainDNSRegistrationEnabled = FALSEFullDNSRegistrationEnabled = TRUE 1 person needs an answerI do too

Via a PARALLEL port? Is that really how you have it connected? From your ping results I can see that your network connectivity is sketchy at best. Have you tried a different network cable?-B- http://www.officeforlawyers.com Author: The Lawyer's Guide to Microsoft Outlook
